Before the trip: exhaustion from work
Yulia says she had worked alongside her husband for a long time and had spent several years feeling exhausted and upset. Before a skiing holiday, she began discussing changes to her working life — 00:11–00:42.
This provides context for her story. The sequence of events does not establish that workload, thoughts or wanting to stop working caused the injury.
After the fall: assessment and proposed surgery
She says she fell on the first day of the holiday, returned to Kyiv and saw a doctor. She recalls being told that an MRI showed a torn anterior cruciate ligament and describes a proposed plan involving a brace, rehabilitation and surgery — 00:42–01:42.
She describes shock and tears after the consultation. The material does not include a full MRI report, the injury grade or details of associated injuries.
What she did and what she reports after three months
Yulia says she contacted Alexander and followed his recommendations. She specifically mentions daily meditation and attention to her diet — 01:42–02:03. The full set of activities and medical care during this time are not described. She does not name a 40-day programme.
She says that after three months she had another MRI and took off the brace. Yulia reports that the ligament had scarred over without surgery and that, at recording, she could walk independently without pain or discomfort — 02:03–02:32.
No medical records are supplied; the video cannot verify the ligament’s condition or what caused improvement. Decide on treatment and surgery with an orthopaedic doctor.

How to understand the closing words about thoughts and illness
Yulia ends by connecting illness with thoughts and actions. This is her personal belief. The account cannot establish the causes of injuries or disease, or justify blaming someone’s thoughts for an illness.

Hello! My name is Yulia. I am from Kyiv. I would like to share my story — a story of healing, as I would put it.
- 00:11
I have worked alongside my husband for a long time. For several years I had been noticing that it was exhausting me. I was tired and often upset.
- 00:27
Before we went on a skiing holiday, I started telling my husband that I no longer wanted to work. What should I do, and how should I go on? Then the following happened.
- 00:42
On the first day of the skiing holiday, I fell on flat ground, even though I was not moving. I was injured, but did not yet know what the injury was. We returned to Kyiv the next day.
- 01:00
Someone recommended a very good doctor at the Institute of Traumatology [street name unclear]. We went to see him. He looked at the MRI images and said there was a torn anterior cruciate ligament and I needed surgery. That was the first thing he said.
- 01:21
Two months in a brace, then two or three months of rehabilitation, then surgery on the anterior cruciate ligament. I was shocked and in tears. What should I do, how should I go on, why had this happened?
- 01:42
We contacted Alexander Zharkov. I followed everything Sasha recommended and told me to do: meditation every day, eating well, everything.
- 02:03
Sasha really helped, and he performed a miracle. After three months I had an MRI, took off the brace and, to my amazement, the ligament had scarred over.
- 02:15
The ligament had scarred over without surgery or any surgical intervention. As of today, the ligament is normal and fully functional. I walk independently, without difficulty, pain or discomfort.
- 02:32
That is my story. The things that happen to us, all our ailments and illnesses — I believe these are our thoughts and actions, the result of our thoughts and actions.
- 02:48
I am very grateful that this situation happened in my life and that Alexander Zharkov came into it. I believe he performed a miracle. Thank you very much!

Can this testimonial justify declining surgery?
No. AAOS explains that treatment depends on injury severity, knee stability, associated injuries and activity level. Make the decision with an orthopaedic specialist. AAOS: ACL injury treatment options.
